Aaron Glonek

Aaron Glonek is training to become a plumber.

Trades World spoke to Aaron to find out more about his life, changes, and future ambitions in the trades.

What did motivate you to pursue a career in the trades?

I am really practical person who enjoys hands-on work…I also needed a job that pays well and this is how I decided to enter the plumbing industry.

What was your employment history?

I was working in the Armed Forces before.

How is your plumbing training going?

It is going really well and I enjoy it a lot.

What qualities does someone need to have in order to be a good plumber?

People need to have a good finesse, take care of your work, pride your work and know how to interact effectively with customers.

What is your favourite part of the course?

I have enjoyed every week… It is so rewarding to be coming back into centre and do something different, so I have gained a lot of knowledge of the trades and really enjoy the practical work.

What do you think about the tutors in centre?

They are really good; tutors are full of knowledge and they are always happy to help you in your training.

What is your plan after you finish your course and become fully qualified plumber?

I would like to work for someone else at the beginning in order to increase my confidence and gain more experience. After that I am planning to specialise in house renovation work.

Definitely, give it a go. It’s enjoyable and it’s very different every day. You will never get bored and you have to be creative and think of different solutions to solve challenges every day.
